Care Assistants (Domiciliary Care) - Harrogate

Full Time - Permanent - 30 Hours Minimum - £8.25 - £8.33 per hour - Must have a car - 45p Mileage Allowance


To provide all aspects of personal care to enable clients to stay in their own home and work with the Scheme Manager / Team Leader to ensure that the clients live within a safe environment.
To promote independence for clients in their own home by advising, assisting communicating and befriending him or her in all aspects of total care, following management guidelines and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

To assist where identified with personal care and dressing in order to promote the service users independence, dignity, privacy and choice
To provide general household domestic assistance to our tenants including laundry and ironing
To ensure that all statutory requirements for Medication, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and Fire precautions and training are upheld
To Promote independence for the client but advising, assisting, communicating and befriending him / her in all aspects of total care with Scheme input and advice
To communicate effectively with the night team to ensure continuity of the care service delivery
To work with the Catering Department. To assist where necessary in the delivery of and preparation of meals for a well-balanced diet in the required quantities and the required times
To attend all emergency calls as and when required, ensuring the safety and well-being of our tenants at all times
To report any concerns in respect of the client care to the Team Leader and the Scheme Manager, and to be aware of the complaints procedure
To monitor clients health needs with the Scheme Manager / Team Leader, ascertaining when to summon professional help. Observe and share information and write in daily report book at the end of each shift
To liaise with the Scheme Manager / Team Leader on the assessment of the clients and their need or desire to purchase personal care
If you are level 3 qualified, you may be asked, from time to time, to support management by taking charge of the building and the shift, ensuring the Scheme stays secure
To complete the daily log of the support purchased by the clients
To complete reports in the care plan / documentation for ongoing monitoring of the Clients welfare where appropriate and necessary
To attend Staff meetings on a regular basis
