Mathematics Graduate – Teaching Assistant

Due to a change in the staffing structure at our client school in Rochdale, there is an upcoming requirement suitable for a Mathematics graduate with aspirations of a career in teaching.

As part of our Future Teachers programme, Teaching Personnel are supporting our client in sourcing an enthusiastic Mathematics graduate who is looking to start their career in teaching. The position would commence in September and would last a full academic year and would involve the successful Mathematics graduate working as a Maths teaching assistant, supporting students and facilitating their learning.

* September 2018 start date, post will continue until July 2019

* Earn up to �15k for the duration of the placement

The successful Mathematics graduate will join the school and work as a teaching assistant and academic mentor, with the responsibility for supporting learners in Mathematics. The post will consist of providing classroom supporting enabling teaching staff to ensure all students are learning in classes and delivering booster/revision sessions. The most suitable applicant will have the ability to quickly build rapport and facilitate the learning of students who may be harder to engage.

Situated a 10 minute drive from the centre of Rochdale, the school can be easily accessed by all applicants due to the excellent public transport links in the area. The school recently underwent renovations and staff can benefit from excellent provisions to enhance the learning experience of students. The school serves a diverse catchment area with a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere throughout along with good pupil behaviour during lessons and around the school.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
