A Primary Pupil Referral Unit in Manchester are seeking to hire an enthusiastic, ambitious and confident Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to support within their KS2 site in Longsight. This position has arisen due to an increase in pupil numbers and therefore requires more staff to support from the new academic year.

This school caters for young people aged 5 – 11 who have been excluded from mainstream school due to a social, emotional or mental health need. This is a challenging setting that requires a strong willed and confident teaching assistant who is capable of managing severe challenging behaviour. A team – teach qualification is essential for this role. Teaching Personnel run courses during each half term and can train the prospective Teaching Assistant if requried.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will;

* Be passionate about developing the social and emotional development of young people
* Have experience working with young people who display extreme challenging behaviours within a school or other setting
* Have an awareness of the Primary Curriculum and be able to support across all subjects
* Experience working with young people in an educational setting or non-educational

Ideally, the Teaching Assistant will have a DBS on the update service to allow for a smooth transition.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
