SEN Support Workers required

A fantastic residential school in Shillingstone are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated support workers to join their team.

This SEN school caters for pupils between the ages of 7-19 with autism and associated difficulties.

The role of Support Worker primarily involves working in the residential area providing guidance, support and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings including classrooms, education and off site activities. The job involves enabling students to develop by providing physical and emotional support.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

* Building professional relationships with the young people and other staff
* Doing everything possible to maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment to live and work in
* Learning about the young peoples specific needs and help meet those needs in the most appropriate way
* To support the young people with their personal cleanliness, general hygiene and appearance, this may include intimate care

Important qualities of this role are being a good role model and conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times whilst on duty or representing the company at outside events. To do this job effectively you will need:

* An understand of Autism and the difficulties it can bring
* Ability to follow a work pattern (staff can work day shifts OR night shifts, you will not be expected to work both)
* Ability to communicate clearly and easily with young people and others
* Awareness of the general health, safety and welfare of young people

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
