Day Electrician – Full Time Permanent (will include some weekends)

Based at Robertsbridge, East Sussex (commutable from Royal Tunbirdge Wells & Hastings)

Due to internal promotion a vacancy has now become available for an Electrical craft person
within the engineering team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our passionate and knowledgeable
engineering department as an Electrical Apprentice. This exciting role will see you take on an in depth
training programme first year off the job training and college day release in future years. On the job
training will be provided to NVQ Level 3 and further education to HNC level minimum.

What will you be doing in the role?

As an Electrical Craftsman you will deliver professional maintenance in order to maximise plant safety
and efficiency by actively utilising improvement tools and techniques. You will primarily be required to
provide planned & preventative maintenance services as part of the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities are:

● An absolute commitment to your own safety and that of others, ensuring full compliance with standards and procedures.
● Demonstrated commitment to the Saint Gobain behaviours and values.
● Works to standard maintenance procedures and adheres to PM, CMMS schedules.
● Improvement of equipment efficiency through a good understanding of machines and equipment.
● Support the Enhanced Work Order system, ensuring that all engineering failures are investigated to root cause, countermeasures put in place and their effectiveness monitored.
● A commitment to learn and develop yourself.

● Experience of safely maintaining medium to heavy process in a continuous manufacturing
● Ideally apprentice trained with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering and IEE Wiring Regulations – 17th Edition.
● Experience in electrical controls would be a significant advantage e.g. AC & DC drives, PLCs,
relay logic, inverters, PID loops, industrial distribution systems, etc.
● Computer literacy - Word and Excel.
● Knowledge of continuous improvement tools.
● Being planned, organised and positively focussed in your day to day activities.
● Be able to understand engineering drawings and principles and be aware of electrical health and safety issues.
● Ability to maintain high standards of work while following identified standards and procedures.
