Main Purpose of Job

Operate Chrome plating and Induction Heat Treat equipment. Maintain equipment and inspect parts


* Responsible to: Operations Supervisor / Lead Operative
* Responsible for: Quality accurate and efficient heat treatment and chrome plating of rotary tooling in line with Customer requirements.
* Liaison with: All employees and external visitors

Main Tasks of Job

Deliver high quality performance to contribute to exceptional customer service standards and requirements by:

* Adhering to Health & Safety procedures and company policy at all times;
* Wearing the correct PPE while in work areas of the shop;
* Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work area - high standards of good housekeeping;
* Operating in the areas only if trained and signed competent to do so;
* Adhering to safe operating procedures & work instructions for machines;
* Carrying out the role in accordance with work instructions, work order specifications and quality requirements;
* Washing, pre-heating and electro chrome plate prior to heat treatment & final test
* Induction heat treating & hardness testing parts and documenting results after heat treat;
* Checking quench for correct percentage and adjusting as needed;
* Prioritising work according to Leads' instructions;
* Accurately reading and completing paperwork and correctly routing to next process;
* Handling metal and dies safely/carefully;
* Supporting and guiding fellow colleagues as and when required;

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Key Skills Requirements (knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications)

* A minimum of one year's engineering experience is an advantage;
* Accurate with attention to detail;
* Basic maths;
* Ability to work repetitive tasks effectively;
* Ability to work without supervision, maintaining company goals and working as a team player.
* Ability to follow instruction
* Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. multiple times per day.
* Physically able to wear multiple pieces of PPE and work in a hot environment.
* Takes pride in work.
