Health & Safety Engineer - Brimsdown, Enfield - £40,000- £45,000 Our client based here in Royston is a FTSE 100 organisation, and a globally renowned manufacturer of fine chemical products, specialising particularly in the refining of precious metals. With over 200 based across the world, the company is one which can offer many opportunities, and is also one which is very serious about recognition, development, and creating progression paths for its people. About the Role: You will play a key part in keeping the site safe and compliant. You will need to understand business standards and current UK laws, ensuring that this is reflected in site policies and procedures. You will need to collaborate with different departments to ensure that this is consistently achieved. Key Responsibilities: Investigate all incidents and / or near misses with a H&S impact. Communicate all relevant information regarding H&S to the relevant sites as required. Support all operational departments to improve quality of risk assessment procedures. Conduct site audits, and develop a comprehensive audit plan to ensure compliance with H&S standards / laws. Working in conjunction with L&D, ensure that staff undertake the appropriate level of training. Key Skills & Experience: Degree level education in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering based discipline. Ideally some experience in a similar type of H&S based position. Ability to provide innovative solutions to issues as they arise. NEBOSH qualification. 7-8 years experience in a Chemical / Process driven environment. Proven leadership skills, and ability to influence others in a positive way. Ability to build strategic relationships, as well being somebody who can give clear, unbiased information in an engaging manner. There will also be an element of travel in this role with frequent travel between the sites in Enfield and Royston, Herts. There may also be some occasional overseas travel.
