Senior Project Engineer (Dry Docking) – Perm – Glasgow – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a global shipping company based in Glasgow.

The purpose of this role is to provide global support to all tanker dry docking projects, for the development and review of dry docking specifications, tender analysis and associated project deliveries.

Responsibilities include:

* Develop and review Dry-dock and large repair specifications.
* Delivering Pre-docking inspection projects, as required
* Complete tender analysis of quotations for projects managed
* Develop knowledge management tools to support specification development, review, tender analysis, project cost control and post project negotiation.
* Present supporting documents for the analysis of repair tenders and project cost control.
* Support Fleet Managers and Technical Superintendents with the compilation of Dry-Dock enquiries by liaising with technical specialists.
* Support project control procedures and knowledge management initiatives.
* Support and Maintain the Dry-docking system and attend MO offices where required, to train Technical Personnel how to use and implement docking system

Experience / Qualifications required;

* Previous experience within the Technical Department, or previous experience in a Technical Engineering position in the Marine industry, is essential.
* Seagoing or ship repair / building experience is essential.
* Tanker experience is essential (Crude, Product, Chemical etc)
* Member of IMarEST or similar professional body.
* A high level of verbal and written communications
* Experienced user of MS Office with a high standard of computer literacy.
* Formal Project Management qualification is desirable
* Ability to administer and analyse Technical and Budget reports.
* Flexibility and Ability to work with various departments within the company.
* Ability to be self motivate for planning and executing delegated tasks and projects
* You must be prepared to travel at short notice
