English teacher required for Luton Secondary school

A full time permanent position has recently become available at a school in Luton that prides itself on having both high aspirations and high levels of success. The school is highly invested in the growth and development of their students as well as their staff, aiming to promote learning for life and positive learning experiences. The school are seeking an English teacher with excellent subject knowledge willing to go out of their way to help students succeed. The school is also rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted who also commented that the “environment positively celebrates and reinforces high achievement and all its forms.” The school also appreciate the significance of English as a subject and achieve success by monitoring the progress of their students very closely, to ensure they are moving forward.

The ideal candidate will also:

* Have a significant level of experience teaching English in a secondary school environment
* Be self – motivated as well as capable of motivating students to achieve their full potential
* Be incredibly organised in terms of preparing lessons and marking work; keeping track of pupil progress
* Drive progress within the department in order to raise and maintain results
* Bring a sense of creativity to the role and perform lessons in an innovative way
* Have strong knowledge of English as well as the current English curriculum
* Be genuinely passionate about supporting students
* Excellent classroom, communication and behavioural management skills

In order to perform this role you will need:

* A current Child Workforce DBS registered with the DBS Update Service
* Two recent references

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
