Focus is on development with the intention of allowing you to ‘get to know the ropes’ so that you will be able to take over from the current Chief Technician upon his retirement.
As an ‘attractions Service Technician’ you will be working at this leisure park with the responsibility of maintaining the fluid running of the rides and attractions for the overall site; which includes 17 great amusement devices.
Running as a trusted and key member of the team, you will need to have the highest levels of integrity, flexibility, reliability, punctuality and enthusiasm with a willingness to lend a hand to multiple and varied tasks on the amusement park floor ensuring that the customers are happy and safe.
It is important that you are ‘very’ hands-on with excellent attention to detail enabling you to work independently, maintain the equipment and ensure its safety record. Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will need a keen eye to help diagnose errors or technical problems and determine the correct solutions. The overall aim is to guarantee that the Park operates, day to day, within the requirements of HSG 175 for the safe use of fairground equipment and other mandatory health and safety legislation. Overall you will need to confirm that the machines are operated to their maximum potential by full and correct checks, maintenance and repairs both to schedules and as faults occur.

Key Features of the Role:
You must be able to ensure that maintenance and repairs are correctly and properly recorded and promote the correct Company image by ensuring that you, together with the venue, are presented to a truly high standard.
Have good mechanical skills in order to be able to cover any duties in your control in the event of staff absences or emergencies. Also, the flexibility to carry out duties, at the request of the Directors, which may entail working outside your department – part of the family.
With good administration and communication skills so that you are able to liaise with office staff or suppliers ensuring that sufficient spares are in stock or ordered helping to eliminate machine ‘downtime’. Also, have the presence to react to an emergency, possibly co-ordinating the response of staff and liaising with emergency services if required.
Being a decision maker within the Parks maintenance and inspection environment whilst being able to utilise colleagues or management, assets, for any assistance will be important.
You will need to assist and advise the maintenance team and directors with safety related procedures and practices including the monitoring or recording of these practices for the equipment. This will include working with independent inspection bodies for a variety of equipment inspections.
As a role model for any junior members of the park and maintenance team you will need to have the ability to instruct junior staff on safe operation of equipment.

Knowledge and Skills:
The Company prides itself on delivering ‘Fun & Entertainment’ to their guests within a safe environment, so for you to be successful in this role you’ will need a positive attitude. Other qualities that make you right for the role:
You will need to have worked in a servicing role previously, with a background in mobile plant products and / or agricultural / motor mechanics / mechanical engineering.
You should have solid experience and good technical ability. Consideration will be given to an "all-rounder" with experience of working on a variety of machinery.
Qualifications (NVQ or equivalent) in a relevant subject are desirable but not essential. You must hold a full driver’s license.
Industries with transferable skills include, agricultural equipment servicing, HGV servicing, forklift / MEWP plant servicing or mechanical engineering experience.
You must have the ability to make good, independent decisions relating to trouble shooting / fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance.
You must have pride in yourself on your professionalism with a proven track record in technical skills, a methodical approach to tasks and excellent communication skills.
This is a hands-on role (not only management) with which you will need a strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic mechanics. Some electrical knowledge would be beneficial.
You must be willing in the leisure industry to work with children, on bank holidays and a weekend day during the summer season.

What’s on Offer:
� 25K – � 32K (Depending on experience), working 6 days a week in summer months: April / May / August Bank holidays are working days. Holidays: 28 days annual leave.
There may be some restrictions in summer school holidays.
