Graduate teaching assistant – Full time from September – ideal for aspiring secondary teachers.

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary school in Manchester who have a long standing, successful 2 year programme for graduates to become qualified teachers. Due to an increase in demand and more opportunities on their programme, our partner school north of Manchester city centre are seeking to hire 3 graduate teaching assistants in September for the next academic year. This is a paid 12 month position which will lead you on to completing teacher training in September 2019 in your chosen subject. We are looking for dedicated and talented graduates to work in our partner school, to be considered you will need to be/have;

* A degree and A-levels in your desired subject for teaching (core/second tier subjects)
* Confident of working with children from a range of backgrounds aged 11-16
* Genuine desire to become a secondary school teacher and undergo regular training
* Knowledge of the education system (secondary schools) and an interest in teaching
* Previous experience working with children in a school or similar capacity

The graduate teaching assistant role

This is a specialist programme “future teachers” where you will work specifically within this large secondary school as a graduate teaching assistant. You’ll support class teachers in lessons by leading small groups, supporting individual pupils and in time mark work, prepare lessons and lead classes in the absence of teachers. During the year you will be required to attend school CPD (training) to develop your knowledge and ability within the classroom. This is a nationally recognised teaching school offering an unrivalled level of support to staff and students, you will be prepared effectively for teaching and move on to your subject specific teacher training programme in September 2019.

This is a full time position commencing in September, with interviews required ASAP to be successful, you will need to have/apply for a DBS certificate and have sufficient references for vetting purposes.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
