Job Description:
Our client who is an iconic luxury sports car manufacturer, is currently recruiting for the following role:

Job Purpose
Expert in either Rear Vision Systems and Exterior Mirrors or Window Regulators. The role exists to lead the Design and Development of mechanism system for various programmes. The primary role is to lead and be responsible for the full design specification and compatibility to all system attributes and performance targets. This will involve interaction and co-ordination of both supplier and internal departments to deliver the system within the quality, cost and timing constraints identified within the programme.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
• Create and manage releases for owned systems
• Lead commodity strategy activities for owned system after provisional system selection achieved
• Manage component cost deck
• Create and manage Final Engineer Sign Off documents for the system
• Co-ordinate and lead programme specific failure mode prevention activities (e.g. Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Quality History Review, and Lessons Learnt Feedback).
• Manage virtual series through complete process (e.g. Grey to White)
• Manage physical build concerns from after point of containment to resolution (e.g. yellow to white)
• Lead cross functional design reviews for your system on a programme
• Lead assembly reviews with manufacturing Engineering to ensure build compatibility
• Provide surface compatibility feedback for owned systems to concept team
• Lead complex and chronic route cause analysis activities relating to owned systems.
• Work with suppliers to achieve manufacturing feasibility for owned systems
• Lead design of system to achieve functional performance targets including mass
• Create high quality cost packs for system to ensure Piece Cost Estimation, purchasing and supplier have clear understanding of what to quote / estimate.
• Working with development team lead design of bucks / rigs to support Failure Mode Avoidance activities
• Create and manage interface matrix for owned systems to ensure cross functional interactions are confirmed in a timely manner.
• Create and manage application specific location strategy for owned systems.
• Provide coaching and assistance to Engineers within the Body Mechanisms team

Qualifications and Experience
• Engineering degree (or equivalent)
• Experience in the design and integration of automotive Body mechanisms
• Extensive experience gained within automotive industry (or similar), preferably with a broad range of experience, particularly within either Mirror Systems or Window Regulator design and delivery.
• Experience of working in high pressure pre-production and launch situations
• Proficient in the use of Tce VisMockup, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge and experience of Failure Mode Avoidance technique
• Knowledge of NX an advantage
• The ideal candidate will be a focused, highly motivated, results orientated individual who works well under pressure and can work to a given deadline.
• The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic and passionate about the client's products.
• Full driving licence

Location: Warwickshire

Due to the significant growth our client has experienced in recent years it now benefits from being a true multi-site organisation, and as such this role could be based at a number of sites, including Warwickshire, Wellesbourne and Milton Keynes
