An Ofsted 'OUTSTANDING' SEN school in South Manchester are looking for a number of Teaching Assistants (Learning Support Assistants) to support within their school on a long term basis from September 2018.

This school are a 98 place school that support pupils with complex medical, communication and physical needs. Some children also have social and emotional needs that can result in challenging behaviours. The school caters for pupils aged 4 - 16 throughout 10 mixed ability classes. Pupil’s communication needs do result in alternative methods of communication being used around school, such as iPads, PECs, Brail and BSL. Promoting independence is a main focus within this ‘Outstanding’ school therefore staff that share this passion is essential.

The Teaching Assistant would need to be flexible to working across all age ranges and with different abilities.

It would be highly desirable for the Teaching Assistant to have experience of;

* Moving and Handling Training
* PEG Feeding
* Tracheostomy Training
* Personal Care
* School based experience is also highly desirable
* Experience working within a care setting is also highly desirable

These positions would be looking to start after the Summer Holidays (from September, the start of the new academic year). This position would look to continue on a rolling basis, likely to be used for the academic year with a high potential of becoming permanent.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
