A Secondary PRU in Oldham are looking for a Youth Worker to start working closely with a group of young pupils who are disengaged from engaging in class work. As the Youth Worker in the school you will need to work with a select few who have trouble engaging and participating in the class. You will be there to build relationships with the pupils to help them then engage in class and make sure that they are working to the best of their abilities. The Youth Worker will then be working in partnership with the Teacher and other Learning Mentors around the school to make sure that all pupils keep noise to a minimum and do not present challenging behaviours.

The school is:

* A 6th day provision to pupils who are permanently excluded from Oldham Secondary School and Academies
* Up to 25 hours educational placements and a minimum of 5 hour off site home tuition
* Full time placements for out of borough transfers
* Off-site outreach, reintegration support to pupils returning to mainstream schools following a permanent exclusion
* Full time year 11 provision
* Permanently excluded pupils undergoing statutory assessments

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
