My client is a specialist school based in Bury which caters for young people between the ages of 11- 16 with severe Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties. The Bury school are seeking to employ a Teaching assistant who has the ability to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with their young people. The students in this provision all have needs which prevent them from functioning academically/socially in a group or mainstream school setting.

The successful Teaching assistant will support the young people in a way which will enable them to access a curriculum which is focused directly at their individual needs. The role of the Teaching assistant will be to manage the young people in a way which enables them to make both education and social progress.

Teaching assistant’s with a background in youth work and sports coaching do particularly well in this school. So please feel free to apply if you don’t have school based experience, but you come from a youth work/sports coach background.

This position is based on long term supply with opportunities to apply for permanent posts on a regular basis.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
