Head Chef


Our stunning 24 bedroom hotel, originally a 17th century smugglers Inn, has one of the most picturesque settings in the British Isles, your kitchen is on the slipway of Portloe Harbour, a charming Cornish hamlet on the Roseland Peninsula

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a head chef.

You will join and head up a talented team of chefs. You will be responsible for the daily operation in our 2 Rosette kitchen and the preparation and cooking of all dishes. You must be responsible, dedicated and a strong leader with the ability to manage a small brigade of talented chefs. You will be able to train and develop your team supportively and professionally.

You must have excellent organisational and good time management skills. You must also possess a creative flair and the attention to detail that is required in a boutique establishment. Our expectations of you will be that you are able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and have a strong desire to improve on your skills and knowledge as well as be knowledgeable of classic food preparations, dishes and cooking.

All dishes are prepared using fresh produce which are all prepared combining contemporary flavours with traditional techniques whilst using only ingredients of the finest quality. You will be expected to be fully prepared for all service times.

You will need at least one year's experience working in a similar role and possess excellent food presentation skills. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure are key, along with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You must also be cost conscious and know how to manage right margins on payroll and food ensuring the business is as profitable as possible.
