Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of our client school in Manchester who seek to recruit a Science Technician ahead of the new academic year.

Previous experience working as a Science Technician is desirable, you’ll join a supportive environment within a school which achieves excellent results. Responsibilities of this position include;

* Preparing and effectively setting up equipment ready for practical lessons
* Assistant the teacher in the correct procedure during experiments and also students
* Undertaking maintenance of all equipment and materials
* Monitor stock levels and arrange for required equipment to be delivered
* Fully immerse yourself within the school community and support the Ethos

Situated roughly 15 minutes from central Manchester, this is a mixed 11-16 secondary school serving a multi-cultural area of the city with pupils being from a range of social backgrounds. Facilities throughout school are excellent and extremely modern, during their most recent Ofsted inspection the school received a “good” grading overall, with particular reference made to pupil behaviour and also leadership. Situated along the border of Manchester and Trafford, the school can be accessed via the A56, M60 for Trafford Parkway or Junction 7/9 of the motorway. Science is a strong subject with results exceeding the national average within school, you will contribute to the success of the subject and work hard to engage pupils within lessons, particularly practical lessons ensuring safety is of the highest importance.

This will initially be a temporary position starting in September due to the nature of the late staffing change, after a successful initial employment there is an opportunity to earn a school based contract and become a more permanent member of staff.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
