Role Focus:

* Owning the day-to-day of the ER cases. There will be 10 at most per week, but of a high complexity.
* First point of contact for the BP

Working in partnership with colleagues across the People and Culture function to deliver a high quality, pro-active and customer focussed support service that includes coaching our People Managers through the employee life cycle - with main focus on employee relations and performance management activities.

The Role:

* Developing and maintaining a good understanding of business areas to provide a proactive support and advice by acting as the first point of contact for guidance and solutions on policies, practices, and processes.
* Will act as the flow between the HRBP team, HR Services, Recruitment and Payroll to ensure that every employee ‘action’ is managed smoothly.
* Managing and assisting employees on all aspects of generalist HR work including but not limited to absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance issues, restructuring and redundancy, ET cases. Provide HR support at formal meetings, hearings and appeals.
* Responsible for designing, delivering and maintaining templates for all relevant HR processes such as end-to-end activities relating to all ER cases.
* Act as the department expert on all family friendly policies, managing all cases proactively, ensuring compliance with policy and legislation, accurate and timely notification and liaison with payroll, and liaison with managers and employees.
* Responsible for managing absence, liaising with managers to identify ways to reduce and proactively manage sickness and other unplanned absences ensuring compliance with policy and legislation at all times.
* Lead the HR team’s Business Continuity plan and ensure regular updates, testing and compliance with the principles of the overall BC process.
* Work in partnership with colleagues across the People and Culture directorate to ensure the highest standard of service to the business.
* Keep up to date with changes in employment legislation, case law updates and best practice and report back to the BP team with updates and recommendations.
* Support HR project work by undertaking research, organising, planning, and other tasks as required.

About You:

* A strong HR generalist with extensive experience of the employee life cycle as well as a solid knowledge of current UK employment law (CIPD qualified or equivalent gained through experience).
* Extensive experience in employee relations case management including investigation, disciplinary and grievance, absence and performance management.
* Thinking differently as well creating strong internal consistency.
* Able to communicate at all levels within and outside – ensuring great, productive relationships.
* Experience of HR information systems, data management and reporting.
* Previous experience in a commercial fast-paced environment is essential.
* A positive and confident member of the HR team who understands the wider impact of their contribution on other parts of the business.
