Teacher of Mathematics for October 2018 or January 2019

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a school based in the Portsmouth area that are looking to appoint a well qualified teacher of Maths to join them in October 2018 or January 2019. The school in one of many that makes up one of the most successful academy trusts in the whole of the UK. The trust pays typically 2.5% higher than the national pay scale for teachers with staff wellbeing high on their agenda. The Trust prides themselves on the continual professional development opportunities they offer their staff across the trust as a whole.

The Role:

* To deliver outstanding teaching and learning of Maths in KS 3/4 and therefore help students achieve excellent academic results, and be a role-model/impact the academy more widely.
* To design an engaging and challenging curriculum that inspires children to appreciate Maths and its application.

Key Responsibilities:

* To plan, resource and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and students make superior progress.
* To provide a nurturing classroom and academy environment that helps students to develop as learners.
* To help to maintain/establish discipline across the whole academy.
* To contribute to the effective working of the academy.

Person Specification for the role:

Qualification Criteria

* Qualified to degree level and above
* Qualified to teach and work in the UK

Experience

* Experience of raising attainment in a challenging classroom environment.
* Experience of reflecting on and improving teaching practice to increase student achievement.
* Evidence of continually improving the teaching and learning of their subject though schemes of work and extra-curricular activities.

Knowledge

* Up to date knowledge in the curriculum area.
* Understanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high aspirations and standards of results and behaviour.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
