Our partner school located in Derby are currently looking to recruit an English Teaching Assistant to start with them from September 2018.

This full time English Teaching Assistant position will involve supporting the learning of both KS3 and GCSE pupils within their English studies.

* Earn between �1100 and �1300 per month

The role:

Due to the strategic focus of the Senior Leadership team to raise the standards of English teaching within the school, they are looking to add an English teaching assistant to join them in the new school year. This position will initially be on a temporary basis, however, there is the potential of a fixed-term the following year.

Working under the direction of the Head of English and Head of Year 7, the incoming English teaching assistant will specifically focus on supporting identified pupils in in Years 7 and Y10/11 to 'bridge' any achievement gaps. This will include providing interventions with small groups to ensure the transition from Primary to Secondary education and assisting preparing GCSE pupils for examinations. The Senior Leadership team are specifically looking for an English teaching assistant with excellent support knowledge of English (ideally holds a degree in English or previous tuition experience).

The school:

The school is smaller than the average size within the local area with just over 800 pupils on roll. The large percentage of pupils who attend the school are from White British backgrounds. At present, the school have a higher than average proportion of pupils who require the pupil premium funding.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
