Overall Purpose of Job

As part of the Information Security and Resilience team, the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Technician is responsible for administering and controlling IT system access control. The role will involve liaising with teams from across the business to manage user access roles, monitor critical system access and reconcile user access entitlements. This role has a development path to Cyber Security Analyst once the appropriate certifications, knowledge and experience have been gained.

Key Accountabilities

* Work with colleagues in the Information Security and Resilience team to ensure compliance with our user access policies and assist with the delivery of our Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy and roadmap.
* Act as the Subject Matter Expert on Identity and Access Management (IAM).
* Working closely with the IT Service Desk in the provisioning and de-provisioning of user account changes for staff, temporary and privileged user access.
* Interface with departments across the group to define and consolidate business user roles and their mapping to system roles and permissions in line with the principle of least privilege.
* Perform regular user access audits, including Active Directory and core IT systems access, to ensure that the integrity of our Identity and Access Management (IAM) structure is maintained.
* Investigate user access related incidents as reported to the Information Security and Resilience team or identified with our security tools.
* Perform root cause analysis on user access related incidents and make recommendations on improvements to our procedures or other controls to stop/mitigate future incidents.
* Maintain the Identity and Access Management (IAM) dashboards, metrics and KRIs.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the information and cyber security industries particularly in relation to an awareness of new or revised Identity and Access Management (IAM) technology solutions and processes.
* Work closely with our Cyber Security Analyst and Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) vendor to investigate, manage and monitor all cyber events, escalating identified cyber incidents when appropriate.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications

* A general understanding of Information Technology including hardware, networks and applications.
* Good working knowledge of standard office productivity tools including Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
* Passion for cyber security and making a difference long term in a highly dynamic environment.
* Stakeholder management experience, up to and including Executive level.
* Ability to work collaboratively with both technical staff and business users.
* Knowledge and experience of any of the following technologies would be an advantage: Active Directory, LDAP and/or database design & administration (including SQL).
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to apply a pragmatic consultative approach to find the right solution for the business.
* Keen attention to detail.
* Any related IT certifications, particularly in the area of information and cyber security, would be a benefit.
