Information Services and Systems (ISS) provides library, ICT, management information, media and careers services to staff and students across the University. It also provides services to other academic institutions, project partners and the general public.

The Software Development team produces software solutions that improve efficiency and deliver value to meet the operational needs of the university, by engaging with business leaders, stakeholders, and other interested parties.

Specialising in user experience and business modelling, the team is responsible for the architectural design and coding of web based applications and services, ensuring maximum interoperability, scalability and availability.

We are now looking to recruit a Senior Analyst Programmer to join our team.

Requirements for the Senior Analyst Programmer Role

Qualification:

* Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline

Experience:

* Substantial programming skills and experience: .Net, Java, C# or other
* Experience of successfully initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating IT Projects
* Experience of unit testing
* Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of agile practices
* Practical experience of software design patterns
* Extensive exposure to ALM
* Experience of fault finding and preventative maintenance/monitoring in a similar large enterprise web environment.

Knowledge and Skills:

* To fully document systems to recognised standards such as Agile Modelling, User Stories and/or UML.
