Senior Finance Assistant required
Port Talbot
Salary of circa £25,000 per annum plus benefits

My client, a leading manufacturing company in Port Talbot, is seeking to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant to join its small but friendly accounts team. Reporting into the Financial Controller, the main duties of the role will be to maintain accurate and timely processing and reporting of payrolls (Hourly paid, Staff and Expats) and all material supplier invoices.

Main duties of the role to include -

- Control of time and attendance system and responsible for weekly recording of hourly paid employees working hours and attendance reports

- Preparation, payment and reporting employee payroll for 150+ employees (Sage 50 Payroll) including yearend processing
- Pension Administration
- Prepare annual life cover policy submission
- Prepare & post journals
- General ledger month end reporting
- Balance sheet reconciliations

- Processing of all material supplier invoices into ACP, including matching GRN`s and posting invoices.

- Ensuring ACP controls for pricing approval are maintained, and all non-contracted invoiced costs correctly authorised, and credit notes received from suppliers
- Preparation of Monthly payment runs and foreign payments
- Material Variances
- Reconcile GRYNI report
- Maintain and publish daily, weekly and monthly production and efficiency reports
- Prepare and publish weekly scrap report
- Stock Take
It is essential that applicants have at least 3 years of accounts/payroll experience.

The successful candidate should ideally hold the following attributes:

- Accountancy qualification preferably AAT
- A good level of competence in Excel, Gmail, and Sage Payroll (preferable)
- Good organisation skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience of working independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work to reporting deadlines and under pressure
- Have excellent verbal and written skills and be an effective communicator


Holidays 25 days + bank holidays
Normal working week Mon - Thur 8.00 to 17.00 (30 minutes lunch), Fri 08.00 to 12.00
