The Company:
We are working on behalf of a long established North West regional contractor who are looking to recruit a Procurement Manager to join their commercial team.
The company turn over c£30m and carry out a variety of schemes principally based in the North West in a number of market sectors.
They have a healthy pipeline of work secured via a number of major local authority frameworks as well as repeat business with private clients.
They are privately owned and profitable.

The Role:
As the company has grown they now need a Procurement Manager to oversee their materials, plant and transport procurement.
Their relationships with their subcontractors and suppliers is crucial to their ongoing success and they would now like to recruit an experienced procurement professional who can lead the function, manage the small buying team and ensure that as a business they are negotiating favourable terms and conditions with their suppliers.
Managing your own diary you will ordinarily be office based in the NW of England but will be required to visit sites, suppliers etc. around the North West.

General responsibilities will include the following;
- Research and contact new suppliers initiating business relationships and partnerships
- Negotiate new contracts including rebates
- Have overall control for ordering materials and plant
- Oversee the Transport department, buying, servicing and maintaining vehicles
- Build an environment that seeks continuous improvement
- Risk management
- Initiate spending controls where required
- Work closely with other departments putting in place robust processes and procedures that aid rather than hinder the construction business
- Prepare monthly reports for Senior Management
- Establishment and updating PSL agreements

They would like to recruit an experienced Procurement professional with a demonstrable track record of working in a similar role for a similar organisation.
You'll need to be IT Literate and be able to interpret and analyse complex data.
You will need a Full UK Driving Licence and be geographically mobile.
