Job Title - Maintenance Engineer

Location - Leicester

Shift - 4 on 4 off (12 hours, days & Nights)

Salary - 36,590 - 38,000 (plus 1000 annual bonus) + Overtime (OTE 40k+)

The Company

Our client specialises in the production of specialty bread products for supermarkets, coffee shops and bakery outlets across the globe. With production sites in over 50 countries, three of which are UK based, they are Europe's third largest producer of baked products.

The business has recently finished a period of heavy reinvestment of profits into new, more efficient production lines, plus a 4 million expansion to their Leicester Plant. This, coupled with the introduction of Lean manufacturing techniques and a revised PPM system, has allowed them to increase production efficiencies by 100% and the boast of being the most efficient Plant in the group.

Due to the site doubling in size, plus designating dedicated PPM Engineers, they now require six engineers across both days and shift positions.

The Role

Each Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for performing both diagnostic fault finding and repair on all production equipment on site. Although most breakdowns are mechanical in nature, candidates must be able to fault find on all affiliated electrical systems using a multimeter against electrical drawings.

All lines are fully automated and controlled by Siemens S7. The Maintenance Engineer would not need to hook in with a laptop and fault find on the ladder controls, but would need to be able to check inputs and outputs.

When not performing reactive maintenance, the Maintenance Engineer would be tasked with working from the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule. Every Wednesday production is halted so as to enable all the engineers on shift to concentrate solely on the PPM schedule.

Training & Development

The Business is incredibly proactive with training and development of their Engineers, with a Training School based in their London Office and a deal with a local college to gain recognised qualifications. All Engineers will receive Siemens S7 training, Working at Heights, MiG and TiG Welding, Supplier equipment Training.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

* Must have previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer.
* Must hold a recognised electrical qualification.

Thanks to their excellent Training & Development Program, the business is able to take on Engineers without prior Food experience. They are not only keen to speak to Maintenance Engineers who have come from other industries but also the candidate who have recently left the Armed Forces that have an Engineering specialty.
