Are you a passionate Teaching Assistant, who wants to make a difference to the lives of young people in York with hearing impairments?

Teaching Personnel work in conjunction with a number of primary schools in York and the surrounding areas who have additional Deaf Unit’s, specifically made to support primary aged pupils with Hearing impairments. Many of these pupils also have different special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, cerebral palsy and challenging behaviour.

We have a variety of opportunities available, such as 1:1 work or small group support. Roles begin on a temporary, day to day basis, with a view to a longer term assignment or permanent role, depending on requirements.

You will be required to improve the outcomes for pupils with hearing impairments, helping them access school life and the curriculum, as well as promoting confidence and raising self esteem.

Relevant qualifications and training is essential.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE E.n.g.l.i.s.h & M.a.t.h.s (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
