We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to work in our supported living service within the Edinburgh area. You will work together with our team to ensure that the physical, social, psychological and emotional needs of our service users are met, by supporting with tasks such as;


Medication – this could be prompting or administering medication;
Meal Preparation;
Prompting with personal care;
Accompanying to medical appointments if needed;
Support with light household duties, including laundry, shopping and cleaning;
Building links in the community.

Main responsibilitiesOur Supported Living service is aimed at adults aged 18 years old onwards who have an assessed mental health disorder.

The Aim of the services is to:


Provide the opportunity to maximise service users potential and achieve life goals
 Provide high quality support in the service users own home, involving them throughout
Support service users to sustain their tenancy and suitably maintain their home
Provide the opportunity to be actively engaged in planning and influencing service users daily life
Provide a lifestyle that will enhance personal choice, achievement, independence, diversity, empowerment, personal rights and overall well-being
Provide an environment of clear communication and where all individuals are valued
Provide value for money services that are transparent, regularly assessed and relevant to your needs
Support service users to find their own home, if required, and deal with the associated tenancy processes

Ideal candidateThe skills you’ll need


A positive and caring person, who is confident and able to deliver individualised support in line with each of our service users support guidelines.
Communicate and engage effectively with our service users, their families and colleagues, taking part in social activities and promoting their independence and dignity.
Strong interpersonal and working relationship skills.
Good understanding of the disabilities, health and social care needs of our service users.
A proactive approach to help motivate our service users to achieve their goals.


As the role requires working with vulnerable adults, your employment will be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks including references, and a criminal record check via the Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme
