Our client are a large Public Transport organisation based in London. They are currently looking for a talented and enthusiastic Business Analyst to join our Information Management and Technology (IM&T) Directorate.
The purpose of the role is to provide effective and efficient business analysis for our internal IT projects. This role will concentrate on the requirements and subsequent documentation for a proposed system integration for an existing legacy departmental specific project and financial management system. Specifically, this revolves around functionality that currently exists and will need to be supported in the implementation of Project online. The role will also need to work with a financial analyst to combine these requirements into a single solution and functional design document to support the entire replacement of the project management and financial aspects of the system
Job responsibilities to include;
-Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
-To quickly understand the organisation and its operations as well as who the key stakeholders are to define and elicit all the key factors needing consideration in the replacement and integration of the current system.
-Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
-Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal users to deliver the required artefacts as needed: e.g. Business/Functional Requirements Document, Use Cases, Business Case and GUI, Screen and Interface designs.
-Deliver a functional design document to specifically address those areas needed replacement outside of the financial system.
-Work closely with an SME financial analyst to produce a combined functional specification and requirements document.
-Utilize your experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required.
-Regularly demonstrably report and illustrate progress against the target deliverable.
-Impart “art of the possible” and best practice knowledge gained via previous experience.
-Able to work independently with users to define concepts under minimal supervision.
-Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
-Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements and the documentation that supports understanding and sign off for these.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
-Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
-Ensure all key staff are identified and ensure appropriate time is allocated to gather, discuss and document their input.

To be considered you will be;
Strong influencing ability, including great verbal and written communication skills
Significant business analysis experience with demonstrable evidence of analytical thinking, requirements management, business process management,
Patience and perseverance to get to the end result and an understanding that those involved also face challenges around their time and have their own pressing priorities.
Ability to work at considerable pace without loss of detail in analysis, documentation or structure and record keeping supporting the final output.
Significant, recent experience of delivering the full lifecycle of analysis, process and requirements gathering with supporting documentation for an HR system implementation for an SME of circa 300 - 500 people.
Thorough and up-to-date understanding of analysis approaches, tools and techniques including business process and data modelling experience
Demonstrable ability to business partner and gain customer trust
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work
A qualification in business analysis such as BCS/ISEB Diploma OR Advanced Diploma in Business Analysis
Experience with Project Online is highly desirable - to the level of understanding the technology enough to produce a functional design for delivery
Experience with Microsoft Navision is highly desirable
High level of competence in MS Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

The key to this role is to provide clear, concise and unambiguous clarity to an audience unaware of the benefits of business analysis and how effort and patience expended in this process reaps significant benefit in the stages that follow.
Delivery of final documentation and information in a clearly understandable, comprehensive format to fully support the succeeding procurement phase.
