Distribution Sales Manager

Location: Midlands region, UK

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Distribution Sales Manager located in the Midlands region to join our team in developing and managing our long-term relationships with our Distribution Partners. The approximate area assigned to you will be from Sheffield to Bedfordshire. You will be home based; however, the role requires regular travel within your assigned area and to our Alton office.

About the Distribution Sales Manager role:

The Distribution Sales Manager has the objective to support & increase the distribution sales in their territory both through existing Distribution Partners and by bringing new distributor opportunities to the business.

The Distribution Sales Manager reports directly to the UK Sales Director (Instrumentation) and is tasked with developing relationships with our primary distributors and adding new distributors to our portfolio to achieve sales and profitability targets and ensuring End User business retention and new customer acquisition is channelled through our Distribution Partners by working with our marketing team.

Duties of becoming the Distribution Sales Manager:

* Manage the distributor relationship at all levels (commercial, inventories, training, identifying marketing & POS needs) developing and implementing joint business plans and sales growth drivers
* Support distributors in trade events and association meetings
* Grow the business in relative sectors & market segments
* Work closely with the Marketing department to provide a full-service support to your Distribution Partners
* Additional duties: Co-developing and maintaining business sales processes, Monitoring and reporting, Business development, Training, Technical support

Requirements of the Distribution Sales Manager:

* The ideal candidate will be either degree educated in an electrical discipline / certified in an electrical equipment specialism or will have significant equivalent industry experience possessing an understanding of equipment specifications and technical features relating to industrial commercial and domestic electrical goods.
* Possess the ability to understand field application & use of test equipment for example in the areas of heating/ventilation/refrigeration/temperature.
* Experience in distribution sales management or industrial B2B sales (5+ years).
* Experience selling in highly competitive markets
* Track record in delivering results and achieving business/sales targets
* Knowledge of HSE standards and practices
* Ability to resolve issues and avoid conflicts with good analysis and problem-solving skills
* Ability to build and maintain relationships working in a team-orientated environment
* Strong negotiation skills that support gaining a win-win relationship with distributors
* Excellent communication and networking skills
* Previous experience in managing stakeholder issues and complex account plans is highly desired
* PC skil
