Job Position: Applications Engineer - Engines

Division: Engines Department

Job Status: Permanent

The Role: The role will report directly to the Sales Manager - UK and be primarily based in Oxfordshire, frequently travelling to customer locations. This role will work alongside our clients existing Application Engineering teams.

Qualifications / Experience:

* Ideally the candidate will have served an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent degree.
* Ability to work on own initiative with a “can do” attitude to work and problem solving.
* Team player.
* Strong electronic and mechanical experience on diesel engines.
* Electronic diagnostic instrumentation fault finding experience.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and CAD modelling programs.
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral, internally and externally.
* Excellent computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office.
* Strong time management skills.
* Valid driving licence.
* Ability to travel with time spent remote working.
* Ability to attend trade shows and interact directly with customer or end user on technical matters.

Responsibilities: Core responsibility of the role is to provide expert product customer support and technical installation advice and guidance on our client’s range of Industrial Diesel, Gas and Petrol fuelled engines and related products to our OEM customer, Dealers and Distributors in addition to:

* Providing and identifying engineering solutions and technical guidance to both customer and business Account Management.
* Providing expert technical assistance to the Sales Administration team and other internal divisions on related products.
* Manage and conduct customer’s development and In-service machine application testing upholding standards and adhering to our client’s testing criteria.
* Produce Application testing reports and analysis of data and recommendations.
* Write specification modifications to OEM requirements for factory assembly or local added value assembly.
* Assist with modifications to diesel, Gas or Petrol fuelled engines to meet customer specifications.
* Prepare customer sample test engines according to project gateways and timelines.
* Full awareness and understanding of existing and future global NRMM Exhaust Gas Emission regulations.
* Maintain ‘Customer Specification Files’ and CRM systems (KAPA).
