Temporary Works Coordinator - Rail

A fantastic opportunity for a design-biased engineer to join a leading multi-disciplinary rail contractor in a Temporary Works Coordinator role, as they make a start on a significant package of works on HS2!

Location: West London & Home Counties

THE CLIENT

We are working alongside an industry leader in the rail sector with a proven track record of delivering projects to top clients such as Network Rail and London Underground, and have been identified as a high-performance company with an excellent partnership with their stakeholders and their clients.

Our client is dedicated on building on their solid reputation of successful delivery which has secured significant new work with HS2, and are looking for an experienced, driven Temporary Works Coordinator to join the team!

ABOUT THE JOB

Your role will play a fundamental part of the project as the business kick off this complex HS2 package. As the designated Temporary Works Coordinator on the project, you will be responsible for being the interface with the CEM, CRE and Project Manager, analysing temporary works requirements from the programme, co-ordinating construction activity and sub-contractors, checking the designs and issuing relevant permits - and everything in between!

With this being such a prestigious scheme for the business, you will benefit from coming from a multi-disciplinary rail projects centring around build rather than maintenance, with a value upwards of 5m. Is this person you?

As part of this role you will expect to cover 2 sites between West London and the Home Counties, with some weekend work, so you must be flexible to cover both sites and work the hours required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

So, what would make you perfect for the role? As an experienced Civil Engineer, you will know that quality always remains to be one of the top priorities on the project, with this role requiring you to have excellent technical understanding of rail civil engineering schemes. You will be juggling several temporary works packages at any one time, so you must be organised and disciplined in your daily plan, with a keen eye for detail.

This role would suit a Senior Engineer with strong temporary works understanding who is keen to move down the technical or design route. You will benefit from having site experience as you will be able to understand the complexity of the work and constructability of a scheme, so if you've come more from a consultancy background this role would not suit you.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

You're the Temporary Works Coordinator I want to speak to if you have experience working on multi-disciplinary rail schemes, as this project will encompass track, signalling, OHLE and civils. You will also need a HNC or above in Civil Engineering and a valid TWC ticket.

PACKAGE

For the top-notch Temporary Works Coordinator, the basic salary on offer is up to 45k depending on level and experience, plus package including car or car allowance, pension, holidays and more.
