My client is focussed on growing its business and has the following opportunity available

Drainage Engineer

The Drainage Engineer will join a team that is currently working on drainage and infrastructure projects across a wide range of related disciplines including drainage design; highway design (S38 and S278), flood studies and flood protection.

Main duties and responsibilities
�The preparation of feasibility studies, designs, scheme drawings, calculations, preparation of contract documents, reports and specifications and supervision of contractors.
�Liaison with other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution.
�Design of infrastructure including SUDS and drainage systems to adoptable standard.
�Design and maintenance of highways structures such as retaining walls and bridges.
�Liaison with statutory bodies, such as Highways England, Environment Agency, United Utilities, etc.
�Resolution of planning conditions.
�Updating OMBC drainage asset records.
�Undertaking site investigations including organising and interpreting CCTV surveys, trial holes, ground investigations, etc. and providing recommended solutions.
�Manage delivery of small projects or a small programme of work with minimal supervision.
�Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Welfare and CDM Responsibilities and of other company procedures.
�Play a key role in supporting scheme development activities, such as TTRO, permits, statutory service enquiries, environmental assessments and cost estimation.
�Carry out site supervision duties. Preparation and maintenance of work record and data sheets and ensuring work is carried out in accordance with contract requirements. Resolve technical queries and other problems that may arise at any time.
�Assist in the development of others.

Person Specification
�A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
�Working towards a chartered / incorporated status (or equivalent) of a relevant professional institution.
�Or demonstrable experience.
�A working knowledge and experience in drainage or general civil engineering projects.
�A working knowledge and experience of the main management systems & processes used within a consultancy business.
�Experience and a working knowledge of relevant design software and standards.
�Fluent written and spoken English.
�IT Literate.
Able to work under own initiative and to seek advice when necessary, you will have the drive and determination to meet targets.
