A world-renowned provider of underwater acoustic, inertial, optical and sonar technology are looking for an experienced Machine Shop Manager to join the company on a permanent basis. You will ensure all staff and machines in the Machine Shop are managed to their fullest potential or ensure that parts are supplied in a timely and cost effectivemanner.

You will be responsible for a highly competent, motivated and productive manufacturing workforce, applying the most effective and safe manufacturing methods and processes. The successful candidate will also be responsible to lead, develop and motivate the Machine Shop Team, applying the most appropriate management style to achieve peak work performance and generate positive team spirit.

Scope of the role
You will be responsible for the Machine Shop, with the direct management of 7-8 non-unionised staff. The role is based within a single shift site, where parts are ostensibly made to order with volumes ranging from one-offs to batches of over 1000.

The role also means you will have full manufacturing responsibility across a wide range of machined components, so experience with a wide range of CNC/Manual lathes & mills would be highly beneficial.

Essential Knowledge
-Detailed knowledge of CNC and Manual Machining and the associated processes
-Detailed knowledge of ERP systems
-Proven management/supervisory skills
-Hass controls knowledge is highly advantageous

Essential Experience
-Extensive operational and supervisory/managerial experience within a machine shop environment
-Proven success in consistent time delivery of production targets meeting required quality standards and cost parameters
-Proven ability to develop and implement operational KPIs to report production performance output and efficiencies
-Proven success with evidence of effective team leadership
