Main responsibilitiesAs our Business Development Manager, you will accountable for networking senior individuals from large, commercial organisations to build, manage and convert, a pipeline of new business and delivering monthly, quarterly and annual growth targets. You will have the following responsibilities:


Working with the Inside Sales resource to identify and develop a pipeline of opportunities sufficient to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual growth targets
Creation of strategic and influential networks to promote awareness of Foodbuy
Cross selling in existing Compass Group clients
Design and compilation of client focussed, solutions-led tenders and proposals
Production and delivery of creative and impactful business presentations, commercial business cases and contract negotiations
Maintaining up to date knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors and leading customer strategies
Management of the new business pipeline
Complete customer visits, building rapport and developing a clear understanding of needs of the client
Developing supporting business cases for each opportunity using sound financial forecasting, working closely with finance and other SME’s
Supporting the Compass sales community by playing an active role in the wider sales teams, including peer review of bids, participating in sales seminars and training events
Be flexible and comply with any reasonable requests made by your line manager
Develop and agree strategic sales plans for opportunities
Diligently build and complete relationship matrices, prepare for appointments in advance and follow-up quickly with future customers
Comply with the governance process for new business, from bid/no-bid through to red reviews, finance reviews and contract hand-overs

Ideal candidateTo be right for us, you will have a proven track record of sales success within a commercial environment. Specifically, you must be comfortable interacting with –and influencing- C-sweet level customers. As a guide, we will be looking for:
