Reporter - Lynn News and Fenland Citizen

We are looking for a full-time reporter to join our editorial team at the Lynn News Tuesday, Lynn News Friday and Fenland Citizen.

With three vibrant newspapers - and their associated websites - we can promise you'll never be bored! We are proud to be at the heart of the communities we serve and have a strong readership both in our papers and online.

The Lynn News has been proudly serving West Norfolk since 1841 and was nominated for Best Local Weekly Newspaper in Newsawards 2018  while the Fenland Citizen was the first free paper produced in Britain.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, have strong news gathering skills and be able to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.

We are happy to consider either a senior reporter looking to make their next move or a junior keen to make a mark in a newsroom where it is never dull.

A sharp news sense is vital, as is the ability to provide accurate clean copy for both print and online. 100wpm shorthand is required. A solid understanding of social media is key, so too is an attitude that is supportive, enthusiastic and positive.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a news team which works hard to cover issues close to the hearts of the communities it serves.

The successful candidate will be able to focus clearly on issues that hold the interest of our readers and be keen to build relationships with key local figures. They will bring in stories, be good with people and have a good telephone manner.

Flexibility with time is necessary to ensure meetings and events are covered. A full UK driving licence is also required.

Based in our new offices in the heart of historic King's Lynn, we offer a competitive salary and all the benefits you would except from a progressive media company.

Iliffe Media is a growing, independent company with a proud history in local media and a keen eye on the horizon. We think the printed newspaper is as important as its digital future, but it has to be local and relevant.
