I am currently recruiting for a specialist SEN School located in Manchester who require an SEN Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. This school provides flexible day and residential placements for students with complex communication and social difficulties typically associated with Asperger’s syndrome and Autism. Many will have additional sensory issues and high levels of anxiety that affect their ability to cope in mainstream settings and create barriers to learning.

This school are currently looking for a specialist Teaching Assistant who is able to support young people with complex educational needs and are able to differentiate for young people with sensory needs. Ideally, the school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has experience working with young people or adults with complex needs. As the school caters for young people with complex needs, majority of pupils are working at Plevels and low National Curriculum levels. Knowledge of the education system is required to support the pupils to the full.

This position is to start from October 2018 on a long term basis.

The teacher would ideally;

* Have experience working in a specialist setting with young people with additional needs
* Have knowledge and understanding of profound and multiple learning needs
* Have experience teaching to Plevels and low national curriculum levels
* Have a strong passion for working with young people with special educational needs
* Have experience using communication aids, e.g. Makaton, Ipads, PECs

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE E.n.g.l.i.s.h & M.a.t.h.s (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
