This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday.

About the Clinical Assistant role:

We now have an opportunity for a patient facing Clinical Assistant, to provide administrative and clinical support to the specialist clinical teams in the premier armed forces rehabilitation centre based at Stanford Hall, Leicestershire.

The role involves supporting clinicians to deliver a world class prosthetic and orthotic service to the servicemen and women receiving treatment in this prestigious clinical setting. It is therefore an excellent opportunity for the successful applicant to use their existing skills and experience, in a highly rewarding and fulfilling environment.

The successful applicant will be an effective communicator, with the ability to liaise with all members of the team regarding all aspects of service user care, develop and maintain good working relationships and deliver exceptional customer service, dealing with patients sensitively and appropriately. They will be well organised and proactive, and will following instructions accurately.

Working closely with a strong multi-disciplinary team, the clinical assistant will:

* Manage all patients entering the department under the direction of the Clinicians/Service Manager
* Book appointments, manage and appoint walk in patients and adjustment clinics as required, and keep patients up to date
* Ensure all paperwork is recorded and processed through MOD or Blatchford Systems in accordance with set procedures
* Assist with all areas of Administration, retrieving and returning patient files and other documentation as required
* Issue Stump Socks and repeat Pad and Sleeves to patients and generally assist patients as required, including providing refreshments, chaperoning and supplying wheelchairs/crutches
* Ensure that all limbs are ready for patient appointments
* Mix and pour plaster casts if required to support clinicians
* Assist with collating and recording clinical activity data for KPI and audit monitoring
* Maintain supply of clinic sundries and carry out stock checks
* Maintain clean and tidy clinical areas and instigate a daily cleaning regime for seats/ treatment beds/ walking rails (all patient areas) to maintain hygienic equipment

Requirements of the Clinical Assistant:

Previous experience of working in a similar role is essential. Experience of working in a support role within a prosthetic or orthotic service is highly advantageous. Training will be provided to meet the successful candidate's needs. We are really looking for a patient focussed clinical assistant who has strong administrative skills and who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
