What are we looking for?

We would expect the successful candidate to be experienced in Production Management and Operations, have product and technical appreciation as well as this we would expect the success candidate to have knowledge and experience in performance management of direct reports and a whole team. They would be expected to comply with the Tarmac Safety Management System; ensuring that all site activities carried out are in line with standards and policies, support the culture of health and safety best practice by setting a personal example, ensure all staff and contractors working on site are fully inducted and comply with Tarmac standards and policies. The Production Manager will also be expected to carry out and record daily safety briefings, weekly health and safety inspections for the site. It is crucial that the Production Manager complies with planning and other operating restrictions eg site boundaries, noise, dust, hours etc

What will I be responsible for?

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing 3 individual sites within the area. It will require the job holder to lead a team of operational staff focusing on delivering exceptional SHE standards and meeting financial and production targets. They will manage and deliver the Operations Strategy within the site and be responsible for people development and instilling a culture of health and safety best practice by driving a culture of SHE continuous improvement. They will specifically focus on co-ordinating all aspects of day to day operation of the quarry through the site team, working closely with the maintenance team to coordinate maintenance activities during a normal day and during shutdowns. The successful candidate will also liaise with customers regarding delivery and quality issues as well as managing the complaints system.

We would also anticipate the successful candidate to have the following qualifications:

- SHE NVQ Level 4
- DAPS or equivalent industry qualification
