Our dedicated team, close to the heart of Nottingham needs your help to support homeless families in the City.
The role involves providing housing related support to residents in a homeless families hostel and supporting families living in dispersed temporary accommodation properties in the Nottingham City area.
You will have experience of completing and reviewing support plans and have the knowledge to address financial, housing, health, education and training support needs of our residents. Our residents’ welfare is at the heart of what we do, and you will work with outside agencies to make sure they receive the support, advice, counselling and training they need to help them sustain future tenancies. You will have experience of dealing with customers who can at times be challenging and you will be at ease dealing with difficult and sensitive issues, such as domestic violence and anti-social behaviour. You must have a good record of monitoring rent payments to ensure the accommodation charge is paid in full every week, minimising the possibility of any rent arrears.
Your background supporting and advising vulnerable families will come with a first rate knowledge of housing and welfare benefits, coupled with an excellent understanding of the issues around homelessness. A good communicator backed with solid IT skills you will either hold or be willing to work towards an NVQ level 2 in Customer Services Management, or equivalent qualification.
We are looking for a strong team player, but someone equally capable of working under their own steam, able to juggle conflicting priorities in a very demanding environment.
