The Ideal CAD / CAM Programmer:

The ideal CAD / CAM Programmer will have an HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, who is also an experienced CNC programmer with experience in CNC Machining. You will also possess:

- Basic/intermediate level of Word and Excel
- Fully trained using CAD/CAM software.
- An ability to interpret Engineering drawings.
- Ability to understand various manufacturing methods and techniques.
- Self-motivated
- Strong general communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.

The CAD / CAM Programmer:

Working with the Production Engineering team, the role of the CAD/CAM Programmer is to create programs for a range of engineering components, using Mazatrol and Fanuc controlled machines. You will be providing operator friendly processes, so they can be effectively repeated in the future. In addition to this you will be required to create and maintain Manufacturing Process instructions. Responsibilities will also include:

- CAD/CAM Programming.
- Direct programming and program modifications using various controllers including, Fanuc and Mazatrol.
- Produce accurate work instructions for the production setters as well as provide daily production support to ensure machine shop performance and output.
- Prove out your process and produce 1st off parts for submission to inspection prior to a production run.
- Create Routings and BOMs to support the machine shop programs.
- To create and maintain Manufacturing Process Instructions by means of instructions/sketches/photos etc.
- To liaise with Research & Development on new products/designs to ensure they can be manufactured in production in the most suitable way.
- Investigate and implement new tooling, work holding and machining strategies to generate productivity savings.
