Senior Accounts Administrator

We are currently working with a Day Nursery Group based in London. They provide childcare for children from 3 months to 5 years.
A Senior Accounts Administrator required at the busy Head Office based in Tooting (SW17).

Extensive accounts management experience required with sound IT skills (Microsoft Excel & Word), strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team and independently to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.

A full time post, 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday; salary of £27,000 per annum.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Childcare Management Database

- Daily entering of fee payments - reconciling against bank statements

- Creating new fee records
- Updating child records
- Creating monthly/weekly invoice runs and quarterly statements
- Chasing late payments
- Processing/filing all paperwork related to child records
- Processing childcare vouchers
- Completing voucher company applications as necessary
- Processing childcare funding from Local Authorities and reconciling funding against bank statements
- Ensuring all deadlines are adhered to and that all financial data is accurate
- Producing financial information for the Principal as required
- Completing forms submitted by parents, Local Authorities and childcare voucher companies.

Communication

- Dealing with parent queries regarding childcare fees
- Liaising with nursery managers on issues such as childcare fees and Local Authority Funding.

- Ability to work methodically and consistently
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to use initiative and be pro-active.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Extensive experience of accounts management
- Strong IT skills: Microsoft Excel - intermediate level, Microsoft Word - intermediate level
- Understanding of and experience with Local Authority Education Funding (Preferable)
- Ability to manage telephone/email queries
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels

- Knowledge of processing payments (Preferable)
