Maintenance Engineer Mechanical/ Electrical Job Title: Maintenance Engineer Mechanical/ Electrical Location: Corby Contract: £20ph-£30ph Working hours: 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday The opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to work for an advanced materials development and production company. The Maintenance Engineer will provide efficient and effective maintenance and breakdown cover to the site. This will involve carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance to machine breakdowns and ancillaries. Role Responsibilities: General * To undertake maintenance engineering duties as required on a daily basis as directed by the Maintenance Lead. * To organise and undertake a pre-planned maintenance schedule in accordance with written instructions and work procedures. * Plan and order spare parts. To ensure all PPM work is able to continue within the planned operations time frame, whilst ensuring approval and authorisation from the maintenance supervisor. * To be aware of the location of all stop cocks, gas and electric isolation points. * To monitor the work of contractors attending site, as instructed by the Maintenance Manager ensuring that work permits are in place and where required RAMS have been issued. * Monitor & maintain chilled water system, record water temperature and pressure readings and clean filter system as required. * Assist in carrying out weekly fire alarm tests. * Read gas, electric & water meters and maintain appropriate records including meter readings and logbooks as and when required. * Undertake specialist mandatory equipment training to enable the company to meet its obligations. (Safe use of ladders, scaffolding, fire alarm systems, manual handling, COSHH, forklift truck & MEWP licences). * To assist with any works at MTC Derby if required (transport and working hours will be negotiated if such situation arises). Experience/Skills Qualified Electrical and Mechanical Engineer - Electrical bias preferable. 17th edition qualified or equivalent. Time served apprenticeship minimum level NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Significant experience in a manufacturing environment is essential. Experience of using Ladders / Scaffolding Ability to demonstrate a high level of technical competence.
