Do you have experience working with vulnerable young people? Have you dealt with pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary school located in central South Manchester, in order to recruit a Behaviour Support worker to join their pastoral team. The Behaviour Support vacancy is for a full time, on going position, starting in January. There is an opportunity for a school based contract for the successful Behaviour Support worker, following the introduction from Teaching Personnel. The school are seeking a Behaviour Support assistant who has an empathetic nature, and can build rapport with pupils with a range of personal and emotional needs.

As a Behaviour Support assistant, you will be working closely with a cohort of pupils, with a range of personal and academic needs. You will be these pupils point of contact in school, and offer pastoral care to them. Some of the needs of the pupils will include; Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH), mild Autism, and learning difficulties (dyslexia and dyspraxia).

The secondary school is located in central South Manchester, and is a purpose build school. The school is easily accessible for drivers, a 10 minute drive South from Manchester city centre. The school also has direct public transport links from Manchester city centre. As a Good Ofsted graded Manchester school, high standards are set for both pupils and teachers, encouraging all in the school environment to reach their full potential and strive for success. The school have a large and dedicated pastoral team, headed by a highly experienced SENCO. The team is dedicated to providing the best support and mentoring to the pupils, so they have the best chance of reaching their full academic and personal potential during their time at school.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE E.n.g.l.i.s.h & M.a.t.h.s (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
