Full time Behaviour Support Assistant required for a Bolton based Secondary school – January 2019.

* Full time Behaviour Support Assistant

* Supporting individual pupils who display challenging behaviour, both in and out of lessons.

* 12 month temporary position starting in January 2019, with the potential of securing a permanent position following this dependent on funding.

* Typical earnings of �1000-�1200 per month depending on experience.

* Working with pupils on a 1-to-1 basis and in small groups to promote positive behaviour in line with school policies.

* Previous experience working with pupils with additional learning needs or those who display challenging behaviour is desirable.

The Intervention Manager at our client Secondary school wishes to appoint a Behaviour Support Assistant who has experience working alongside students that may otherwise struggle to engage in class. The successful Behaviour Support Assistant will make a difference to pupils’ daily school life and help them push the boundaries on what they can achieve during their time in school.

The successful Behaviour Support Assistant will be working alongside students that tend to lose focus and concentration during lessons, and could then start to have a negative affect on the learning of other pupils in class; it will reduce cases of low level disruption during the lesson. It is integral that the successful Behaviour Support Assistant are able to build strong relationships with students and have a ‘firm but fair’ approach when dealing with challenging behaviour.

The large Secondary school is located in the heart of Bolton town centre and has roughly 1000 pupils on roll. The school serves a large catchment area and pupils respect their teachers and peers. Located just a few miles from Bolton train station, the school is easily accessible via the M60 and M61 making the surrounding areas; Bury, Salford, Manchester and Wigan easily commutable.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE E.n.g.l.i.s.h & M.a.t.h.s (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
