A Special School in Bradford are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work with young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). The school is situated close to the Whetley area of Bradford and caters for pupils from 11-19 with complex learning needs.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working in a class of 12 pupils, all of whom have PMLD and associated medical needs. You will be confident attending to the personal needs of pupils including the implementation of personal learning programmes that may include social, health, physical, hygiene and welfare objectives in addition to supporting and encourage pupils to engage in, and participate in learning activities lead by the class teacher.

You will take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT. The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with young people (or adults) with additional learning needs and have an awareness of meeting objectives as outlined in an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE E.n.g.l.i.s.h & M.a.t.h.s (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
