The Company and the Role:
The Company is a multi-award winning, family run gastro pub chain operating in the South East. They are currently seeking a permanent Sous Chef for their public house located near Epsom, Surrey.
They are looking for a committed Sous Chef with a passion for good food that is ready to continue developing their career in an award-winning venue.
Established in 2003 the Company has grown to 8 fantastic Gastro Pubs offering seasonal British cuisine. This pub prides its self on sourcing ingredients from artisan suppliers and is freshly cooked by their creative chefs

Key Features of the Role:
As the Sous Chef, you are the direct assistant to the Head Chef, which means you will be responsible for most of the same duties and responsibilities, such as inventory, kitchen staff management and food preparation, ordering and stock control.
The role of Sous Chef is challenging, as you'll be expected to make sure the brigade is producing top-quality cuisine and that chefs with talent are trained and developed. In addition, you'll have to take charge of the kitchen in the head chef's absence.
All food is prepared in house using fresh ingredients and local suppliers wherever possible as well creating and developing and setting the highest standards of food quality and consistency.
You will be working under a very talented, experienced and dedicated Head Chef who will guide you in the management on how to run a smooth, efficient kitchen ultimately turning you into a great Head Chef for the future.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience in designing regularly changing menus and embracing food culture.
Be able to motivate and manage the brigade to produce consistently great food as well delivering the required standards of health and safety, cleaning and food hygiene.
Must have experience in ordering, stock control and strong financial understanding.
Be confident in training and recruiting new team members and strive to be the best at what they do.
An ability to stay calm when the pressure mounts.
Be able to manage the kitchen structure set by the Head Chef on their days off.
First rate culinary skills and knowledge of all areas of the kitchen.

What's on Offer?
Basic salary will be in the region of �22,000 - �24,000 per annum depending experience and skill set plus tips which will be worth around �80 per week.
Benefits include bonus, pension scheme, staff loyalty scheme after 3 months and childcare vouchers, uniform / Chefs Whites provided
Accommodation can be offered dependent on availability upon application.
Standard working week is 45 hours working 5 shifts a week which will include split shifts and weekends
