Teaching Personnel
Job Ref:

Teaching Personnel have a high demand for sports graduates with a background in supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties. You would be supporting primary & secondary aged pupils who have been excluded from their mainstream setting and now attend a provision who specialise in this area.

A Team Teach or relevant de-escalation qualification would be preferred, but if you feel you would be good for this role and do not hold this type of training then please still feel free to apply as we can provide this training!

The aim of Team Teach or relevant course is to promote de-escalation strategies and to teach a range of positive handling strategies including guiding, escorting and restraint techniques appropriate for children and young people.

You will be required to work on a small group and 1:1 basis with pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The role is known to be more challenging on a physical level and the school are interested in applicants who are into their extra circular activities outside of work, as they would be happy for you to take the pupils outside and get them involved in a sporting activity to defuse the situation.

Prior experience working in a pupil referral unit or challenging environment is preferential, but not essential.

The ideal candidate will be willing to work on a full time basis and enthusiastic about getting involved in school’s extra curricular activities.

To express an interest in this role please send a copy of your CV over to Chris our SEN specialist if you wish to be considered for this role.

However, if you feel this role isn’t for you, but you feel you have the necessary experience in other areas then please still get in touch as we may have another position more suited!

I look forward to hearing from you!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE E.n.g.l.i.s.h & M.a.t.h.s (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
