Salary: Up to £28 - £33K pa dependent on qualification and experience
With the usual holiday and pension entitlements.
Hours - 40 hours
Experience: Managing a Registered Children's Home: 2 years (Required)
Licence: NVQ / QCF Level 5 Children and Young People (Required)

Main Purpose of Job

My Client is a long established, private provider of semi-independent provision and Children`s Homes.
You will be Registered Manager for a small (five-bedded) Children's Home. The post holder will be responsible for managing all aspects of running the Home, for medium to long term planned placements (N.B. emergency short-term placements are also occasionally accommodated) to ensure young people are supported and prepared to move on to independent living.
To ensure that high levels of emotional and physical care, appropriate activities, comfortable accommodation and the service of key workers are planned, provided and applied in accordance with home`s Procedures and Strategies and in line with The Children's Homes Regulations 2015.

As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Home in line with organisational policies and procedures, Ofsted requirements and Local Authorities' expectations. You will also be expected to take on-call responsibilities when required.
You must be able to lead and manage a team in the Children`s Home and supervise the delivery of care plans, risk assessments and behavioural management plans for the young people in our homes.

Duties and Responsibilities Specific to the Post:

- The role is also dependant on the applicant being able to pass the Ofsted application process.
- In line with the requirements, the newly appointed prospective manager would need to make their application to Ofsted within six weeks of their appointment.
- To undergo an enhanced DBS check.
- To keep the children's guide, SOP, and policies and procedures under review.
- To be responsible for the management, co-ordination and development of a range of quality services for young people referred and/or accommodated within the home.
- To ensure the Home exceeds all standards prescribed within the National Minimum Standards for Children's Homes 2015.
- To ensure the young people's needs are met in line with the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes.
- Ability to build effective multi-agency and partnership relationships with Local Authorities, CAMHS, YOS and other agencies as required
- Ability to create a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people feel safe and cared for.
- To promote the practice of working in partnership with young people, their families, other staff within the company and other agencies, in order to meet the needs of young people.
- To provide effective leadership by implementing organisational strategies, in order to enable objectives of the company to be achieved.
