This is a rare opportunity to join the senior team within Exclusive as we are actively seeking a General Manager to lead the team at Lainston House.  This property is one of our Hotels, located just outside Winchester, Hampshire and situated in beautiful countryside.

As a Hotel this property excels in Weddings, Meetings and Leisure and has its’ own cookery school, falconry and kitchen garden. It would suit someone who loves dealing with special occasions, events and groups and relishes the opportunity to really get to know our clients. 

This role will require, stamina, energy and enthusiasm in spades and our perfect candidate will be someone who knows how to lead from the front, motivate their team, is extremely passionate about hospitality and commercially astute.

Main responsibilitiesLots to do but lots of fun

Reporting to our Managing Director you will be responsible for:

Establishing short and long term plans for the Hotel, including allocating resources and establishing effective measurement and accountability to ensure successful implementation of projects.
Managing strategic sales and marketing as well as daily operational and financial management.
Managing strategic HR in conjunction with Group Human Resources Manager.
Managing Food and Beverage Operations in order that guest receive the best possible experience in terms of product and service.
Mentoring and developing direct reports, setting clear and measurable objectives.

Ideal candidateAre you right for us

As already mentioned - lots of energy, drive and stamina to lead and motivate the team!
Proven senior management experience in hospitality (hotels or venue sector).
In depth knowledge of food and beverage and front of house (including systems).
Confident communicator – important for guest, team members and dealing with other departments and external clients.
Commercially astute and financially aware to make the right profitable decisions regarding the day to day running of the hotel.
An Influencer, able to maximise sales and control revenue capture.
Ability to adapt to market conditions to ensure the best business results.
