Job Ref:

Computer Science Graduate – Medical Devices – Cambridgeshire

If you have recently graduated (within the last two years) or are due to graduate in the next six months, then I have a very interesting opportunity to move into the Medical Devices sector. We are looking for a recent Computer Science degree graduate or PhD graduate to join a growing company and apply their scientific programming ability towards cutting edge technologies.

You will work within an established team of software engineers, electronics engineer, embedded engineers and computer scientists to develop lifesaving and life improving medical devices.

The main focus of this role will be to apply your problem-solving skills to complex problems. This truly is a fascinating role that will test your ability and provide you with excellent career and skills development opportunities you cannot expect anywhere else.

This role will involve working with external and internal experts, due to this you must have the communications skills, both written and spoken, to relay your thoughts. You will at times present to groups so confidence to talk through findings and field questions will be important.

We expect there to be a lot of interest in this role, so unless you have worked for a medical devices company previously (first role after university, post-doc or placements) you will need to have high A-Level results (A’s in Math and Physics ideally) and a 1st or 2:1 degree in Computer Science, Physics or another complex field that developed your software and problem solving skills.

Also, due to the high level of interest in this role we always review people’s hobbies closely. We are looking for people who have technical or problem solving hobbies that show you have a real passion for the field. If you have such hobbies, please make sure they are noted on your CV.

It would be highly advantageous if you have worked on embedded C programming, however this is not essential as long as you have been working on complex software programming problems.

Apart from the excellent career path on offer you will be rewarded with an excellent starting salary, benefits package and relocation allowance (when needed).

As I mentioned earlier, we expect a lot of interest in this role so please make an application quickly. The is no closing date for this role, when someone suitable is found the role will be filled. There is a focus on hiring the best person for the role so it will not affect your chances if you could start straight away or in six months’ time.
